From the Artist I have always been involved in creativity. I studied pottery in college, which helped my understanding of form and glaze in my paintings today. I was formerly a textile designer, and that shaped my sense of color and pattern.
I owned and created all designs for my own costume jewelry company for fifteen years, selling to boutiques across America and abroad. I traveled extensively throughout Europe and had the opportunity to live in France and Greece. Those two cultures had a deep internal effect on me as a painter.
I presently paint still lives exclusively in oils. Almost all of my vases are ones I've collected over the years in different antique shops. Most of the flowers are from my garden.
Throughout my life, I've been drawn to the beauty of nature, especially flowers and the countryside, and I believe that nature is evidence of God's existence.
