Jennifer Hansen Rolli

As a young girl growing up in the beautiful surroundings of Bucks County, Jennifer’s father would teach her the subtleties of color and light through paint. Their painting excursions to the countryside would be the foundation that eventually called her permanently to the brush. In the years to come, she enjoyed a prolific career in the communication arts, achieving a national profile with her designs and illustrations. Motherhood gave her a natural break in her career and today her life-long passion of painting has been rekindled. Her innate sense of space, dimension and color coupled with her strong design background put a refreshing twist on her native surroundings. Favorite artists are Toulouse-Lautrec, Cezanne, Sisley, Vuillard and contemporaries, and Barbara Schaff; yet these are not the primary source of inspiration. “I try to keep to myself and look only to others if I am having a particular problem with the painting. What gets me up and out to paint are expansive skies, interesting people and interiors full of depth. These things exuberate freedom and make me feel alive; they just feel good to paint.”
